Ignition coil 072557 has been obsoleted by Generac. If you order this coil you will receive our aftermarket replacement coil.

Your original wire powering the coil on the positive side may be a "resistor wire"  meaning it takes the place of an external resistor that would normally be located near the coil.  Since this new replacment coil comes with a resistor, make sure the wire feeding the positive side of the coil is NOT a resistance wire, but just a standard piece of copper-stranded wire.

If you are not sure if you have a resistance wire on the positive side of your coil, disconnect it and measure it from one end to the other with an Ohm meter.  If nearly zero Ohms, then it is a solid wire and you can continue to use it with the resistor that comes with the new coil.
