The EDG5500 digital governor is Made by "GAC" and designed to regulate engine speed on diesel and gas or gasoline fueled reciprocating engines. The EDG is a suitable replacement for any mechanical governor system that needs flexibility, precision, or accurate control of governed speed. The EDG is designed for 12V or 24V industrial engine applications from generator sets, and mechanical drives, to pumps or compressors.

The EDG5500’s Quikset Display allows its operator to monitor and configure parameters without any external monitoring devices. This means no configuration software or PC required.

I replaced the OEM governor on my Cummins/Onan GNAA generator with the Governors America EDG5500 Digital Speed Control and my generator runs like a top! I recommend this unit highly, and it costs about half of the OEM governor.
