Maxitrol 3/4" NPT Straight-Thru-Flow Gas Regulator can be used on appliances or generators.

Comes ready for Natural Gas operation: 1/2PSI @ 900CFH.  (See below procedure to convert for Propane vapor.) Will replace the following part #'s where typically used on generators:

  • Generac 051109 or 51109
  • Kohler 291259
  • MAXITROL ES306
  • MAXITROL ES401
  • MAXITROL IMP-52 or IMP52

DISCLAIMER: Natural gas and Propane gas are explosive and highly flammable!  You are responsible for the safe use and proper application and adjustment of this device.  A.S.A.P. offers this for information purposes only.  This part should only be installed by persons trained for propane and natural gas equipment, and for the application it is used for.  A suitable safety shut-off valve or solenoid valve should be installed prior to this regulator.  A.S.A.P. is not responsible for incidental or consequential damages or injuries of any kind.

For some older Propane vapor powered generators this is sometimes used as a "demand regulator" and mounted at the inlet side of the carburetor:

Remove the cap on the end of the cone & notice the white plastic threaded adjuster that compresses the spring.
Remove the adjuster with a screwdriver & take out the spring.
Turn in the adjuster approx 2/3 - 3/4 of the way down the threaded cone so there is room to store the spring above the adjuster.
Replace the threaded cap at the end of the cone.
The spring is now just in storage and NOT used to regulate pressure, so now instead the regulator controls volume or flow,  based on engine demand created by vacuum from the engine.
The device must now be positioned with the cone pointed DOWN, so that the internal "valve" will drop down and shut off the fuel until engine demand / vacuum calls for it.

CSA design certified for 1/2 psi rated pressure under the ANSI standard for gas pressure regulators; and CSA listed to certify compliance with nationally published safety, construction, and performance standards. They are main burner only, non-lockup type. They should not be used as a line gas pressure regulator ahead of low pressure controls. Use only where downstream controls can operate at line pressure.
